Il castello di Falkenstein, noto in passato anche come castello di Neuer Falkenstein, è un castello elevato di epoca medievale nel Harz. Appartiene al comune di Falkenstein/Harz nel distretto di Harz, in Sassonia-Anhalt. È stato costruito tra il 1120 e il 1180. Il castello è gestito dalla Fondazione culturale della Sassonia-Anhalt come proprietario.
Il castello di Falkenstein si trova nell'Unterharz nel Parco naturale del Harz. È situato tra Mägdesprung e Meisdorf su una cresta rocciosa a sud e sopra il Mulino di Thal, che si trova nella valle della Selke. Immerso in un paesaggio boscoso, è circondato dall'area protetta Selketal, circa 1,3 km a nord-ovest del villaggio di Falkenstein, situato tra le località di Meisdorf e Pansfelde lungo la strada statale 230.
