El Hixterwald o también Sölder Holz es una pequeña área forestal continua en la frontera de la ciudad entre Dortmund y Holzwickede.
Se extiende entre los suburbios de Sölderholz y Lichtendorf en el oeste y la parte de Holzwickede Dudenroth en el este. Las terminaciones de los nombres de los lugares -holz y -rode ya indican una extensión mucho mayor del bosque en el pasado, antes de que la deforestación y la tala lo restringieran cada vez más.
