El Gymnasium Paulinum en Münster, Westfalia, es el gymnasium más antiguo de Renania del Norte-Westfalia y una de las escuelas más antiguas del ámbito de lengua alemana así como en Europa.
En el año 797 se dice que se fundó la escuela de la catedral en Münster. Sin embargo, no se puede invocar una mención documental, sino un edicto de Carlomagno de 789 para establecer una escuela en todos los monasterios y sedes episcopales. Esto también debió ser el caso en Münster, que en ese tiempo se llamaba "Mimigernafort". El monasterio fue consagrado en 797 por Liudger a san Pablo, lo que se considera el inicio de la schola paulina.
