Il Gymnasium Paulinum di Münster, nella Vestfalia, è il più antico gymnasium della Renania-Vestfalia e una delle scuole più antiche nell'area di lingua tedesca e in Europa.
Si dice che la scuola del duomo di Münster sia stata fondata nell'anno 797. Tuttavia, non ci si può riferire a una menzione documentaria, ma a un editto di Carlo Magno del 789, che ordinava di istituire una scuola in tutti i conventi e nelle sedi vescovili. Questo deve essere avvenuto anche a Münster, che allora si chiamava ancora "Mimigernafort". Il monastero fu consacrato nel 797 da Liudger a San Paolo, il che è considerato l'inizio della schola paulina.
