Cannewitz, obersorbisch, es una aldea en el distrito de Bautzen en Sajonia Oriental y forma parte desde 1994 del municipio de Malschwitz. Se encuentra en la Alta Lusacia y está situada en el área de asentamiento de los sorbios.
Cannewitz es una aldea circular ampliada en forma de plaza, aproximadamente a 11 km al este de Bautzen y a 5 km al sureste de Malschwitz. Se encuentra en la llanura fluvial común del agua de Kotitz y Löbauer, siendo la primera la que atraviesa el lugar y la segunda que fluye un poco al este. A pesar de su cercanía - en algunas partes están a solo 100 metros de distancia - el conflujo no ocurre hasta varios kilómetros al norte. Tanto en dirección sur como este, el terreno se eleva hacia el ámbito de la Alta Lusacia, mientras que el entorno occidental es relativamente llano hasta las alturas de Kreckwitz y hacia el norte.
