Kervenheim, junto con Kervendonk, forma una localidad de la ciudad de Kevelaer, en el distrito de Kleve, con aproximadamente 2200 habitantes. Kervenheim tuvo originalmente derechos de ciudad, que ya estaban documentados en el año 1322, pero que se perdieron nuevamente durante la época napoleónica. El lugar originalmente tenía solo una superficie de 11 ha, que más tarde se amplió a 45 ha debido a la cesión de terrenos por parte de la comunidad rural de Kervendonk. La actual localidad de Kervenheim tiene una superficie de 15,55 km².
