Kervenheim, insieme a Kervendonk, forma un comune della città di Kevelaer, nel distretto di Kleve, con circa 2200 abitanti. Kervenheim aveva originariamente il diritto di città, che è documentato già nel 1322, ma andò perso durante il periodo napoleonico. Inizialmente, il luogo occupava solo un'area di 11 ettari, che in seguito si ampliò a 45 ettari a seguito della cessione di territori del comune rurale di Kervendonk. L'attuale comune di Kervenheim ha un'area di 15,55 km².
