El pueblo de Gruyères, escondido en la hondonada de un romántico valle salvaje, está formado por antiguas y bonitas casas rurales y su pequeño castillo medieval de los siglos XIV-XIX. Habría sustituido a una residencia de caza construida por el Conde de Chiny hacia el año 1000. Finca privada visible sólo desde el exterior.
