Het dorp Gruyères, verborgen in de holte van een romantische wilde vallei, bestaat uit oude en mooie landelijke huizen en zijn kleine middeleeuwse kasteel uit de 14e-19e eeuw. Het zou een jachtverblijf hebben vervangen dat rond het jaar 1000 door de graaf van Chiny werd gebouwd. Privé landgoed alleen zichtbaar van buitenaf.
