Construido entre 1874 y 1876, el Fuerte du Parmont forma parte del sistema defensivo de la Alta Mosela diseñado por el general Séré de Rivières. Situado a 591 metros de altitud, domina Remiremont y controla el acceso a los valles de Moselotte, así como las carreteras estratégicas que unen Épinal, Plombières, Val-d'Ajol, Xertigny y Bussang.
Abandonado en 1960, ha sido restaurado por la Association de Sauvegarde du Fort du Parmont. Descubra este lugar único con sus fieles reconstrucciones y sus salas restauradas: panadería, cuartel, polvorín e incluso un sistema de comunicación óptica operativo, que funcionaba con luz solar o lámparas de aceite, una rareza en Francia.
