Municipio vitícola situado en la Route des Vins a 260 m de altitud, cuenta actualmente con 330 habitantes. Ribeauvillé está a 8 km y Riquewihr a 12 km. El pueblo está abastecido por varias tiendas ambulantes.
Hay un hotel-restaurante y pisos amueblados.
Varios viticultores ofrecen visitas a las bodegas y degustaciones. El pueblo es famoso por su Pinot Noir y su Grand Cru 'Gloeckelberg'. Rodern, típico pueblo alsaciano, es un punto de partida ideal para explorar las principales atracciones turísticas de Alsacia.

La iglesia parroquial con su púlpito barroco y las numerosas casas alsacianas, algunas de las cuales datan del siglo XV.
