A wine-growing commune situated on the Route des Vins at an altitude of 260 m, it currently has 330 inhabitants. Ribeauvillé is 8 km away and Riquewihr 12 km. The village is supplied by a number of itinerant businesses.
There is a hotel-restaurant and furnished apartments.
Several winegrowers offer cellar tours and tastings. The village is famous for its Pinot Noir and Grand Cru 'Gloeckelberg'. A typical Alsatian village, Rodern is an ideal base for exploring Alsace's major tourist attractions.
Not to be missed:
The parish church with its Baroque pulpit, the many Alsatian houses, some of which date back to the 15th century.
In July, an important Wine Festival.
