La primera iglesia fue construida en el siglo XI , en un lugar donde ya existía un lugar de culto cristiano desde el siglo IV .
La iglesia estaba dedicada a San Miguel, arcángel protector de los cristianos. La iglesia actual fue construida en el siglo XII, en estilo románico. Consta de una nave, crucero y coro.
En 1863, el abad Auguste Cazin tuvo la idea de construir la iglesia Saint-Michel en un terreno que había comprado. La primera piedra se colocó en agosto de 1867, según los planos del arquitecto Bouloch, de Boulogne. La iglesia fue bendecida el 29 de septiembre de 1868 y consagrada el 17 de agosto de 1876. El Jueves Santo de 1892, un incendio destruyó el mobiliario y dañó la iglesia. El arquitecto de Hesde, Clovis Normand, dirigió las obras de restauración. El nuevo edificio fue consagrado el 16 de octubre de 1892. El campanario se construyó en 1955 según los planos del arquitecto boulonés Dujardin.
