El Pierre II (puesto en funcionamiento en 1992) es un transbordador de cable transversal propulsado por hélices que mantiene una conexión entre dos orillas a lo largo de un cable de acero tensado sobre el agua. El cable tiene como objetivo evitar que el transbordador se desplace. El Pierre II está diseñado como un transbordador de flotación libre y, por lo tanto, podría moverse muy bien incluso sin el cable transversal.
