Le château de Deerlijk, plus connu sous le nom de « château de Gaver », n’a pas d’histoire séculaire. Il date de la première moitié du 19ème siècle et était autrefois un élevage de moutons. Ce château, longtemps caché à la vue du public par les arbres et son éloignement, a été fondé par Messire Aster Vercruysse de Solart, né à Courtrai le 16 avril 1834 et mort à Gand le 16 juillet 1921.
