Ce bloc comprend 30 appartements et est nommé d'après la piscine en plein air (voir la photo d'archives) qui se trouvait ici jusqu'en 1986, le soi-disant 'Lac Aux Dames'.
En 1935, la piscine a été construite avec de l'eau de mer, la première de ce genre sur la côte, sous l'impulsion de l'ancien champion de natation Martial van Schelle. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, cet homme d'affaires et sportif a été exécuté dans le Fort de Breendonk.
Le complexe piscine et restaurant a été gravement endommagé pendant cette guerre et en 1986, il a été décidé de le démolir complètement. Les appartements portant le même nom sont restés debout... Ils sont un design de l'architecte Maurice De Nève de 1953.
