Le Château de Zellaer, au nord du centre de Bonheiden, a été construit entre 1888 et 1892, à la demande du baron Gustavius Eugenius Leo Maria Gislainus de Vrière. Les plans ont été dessinés par l'architecte Heugenbaarts de Malines. Pour la construction du bâtiment, on a utilisé de la pierre de sable blanche provenant des fortifications démolies de Vilvoorde. Les agriculteurs dépendants de Zellaer devaient effectuer le transport avec des chevaux et des chariots. La légende prétend qu'il s'agirait d'une copie réduite d'un château de la Loire. Les preuves à cet égard ne sont toujours pas apparues. Le château néo-gothique est entouré d'un fossé en anneau et dans le parc, il y a encore plusieurs larges canaux. Dans le bâtiment se trouve actuellement un centre de réflexion.
