Il Castello di Zellaer a nord del centro di Bonheiden fu costruito tra il 1888 e il 1892, su incarico del barone Gustavius Eugenius Leo Maria Gislainus de Vrière. I progetti furono disegnati dall'architetto Heugenbaarts di Malines. Durante la costruzione dell'edificio fu utilizzato calcare bianco proveniente dalle fortificazioni demolite di Vilvoorde. I contadini dipendenti da Zellaer dovevano occuparsi del trasporto con cavallo e carro. La tradizione afferma che sarebbe una copia in miniatura di un castello sulla Loira. Le prove a riguardo non sono ancora emerse. Il castello neogotico è circondato da un fossato e nel parco ci sono ancora diversi ampi canali. Nell'edificio si trova attualmente un centro di riflessione.
