Prester est un quartier de 5,1586 km² situé sur la rive est de l'Elbe dans la capitale de l'État de Saxe-Anhalt, Magdebourg, avec 2 103 habitants.
Le quartier a une limite ouest naturelle avec l'Elbe Strom et l'Alter Elbe, qui s'étend du bord nord de la forêt de Kreuzhorst jusqu'à la hauteur de la Seestraße. Le quartier voisin au nord, Cracau, est d'abord délimité par le dyke de l'Elbe, puis par la Leuschnerstraße et la Thomas-Mann-Straße. À l'est, se trouvent les quartiers presque inhabitables de Zipkeleben et Pechau. Prester est situé sur une surface presque plane entre 45 et 47 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. De vastes zones à l'ouest et au sud sont des terres agricoles ou des terres en friche. À l'est, le lac Prester s'étend, représentant un ancien bras de l'Elbe.
