La société de pêche Bremen-Vegesacker était une pêche à la senne et a existé de 1895 à 1969. Elle était à un moment donné la plus grande société de pêche au hareng d'Europe.
L'Allemagne a importé en 1895 un total de 1.181.953 fûts de harengs salés d'une valeur d'environ 25.000.000 marks. Pour devenir moins dépendante des importations, différentes sociétés de pêche au hareng ont été créées à cette époque dans plusieurs villes côtières d'Allemagne. Ainsi, le 31 janvier 1895, la Bremen-Vegesacker Fischerei-Gesellschaft AG a également été fondée.
