La Bremen-Vegesacker Fischerei-Gesellschaft era una pesca a traino e operò dal 1895 al 1969. Era temporaneamente la più grande compagnia di pesca del merluzzo in Europa.
La Germania importò nel 1895 un totale di 1.181.953 barili di aringhe salate per un valore di circa 25.000.000 marchi. Per diventare meno dipendenti dalle importazioni, in quel periodo sorsero in vari porti costieri della Germania compagnie di pesca per aringhe. Così, il 31 gennaio 1895 fu fondata anche la Bremen-Vegesacker Fischerei-Gesellschaft AG.
