Sennewitz est une localité de la commune de Petersberg dans le district de Saale en Saxe-Anhalt. L'ancienne commune autonome faisait partie depuis le 1er juillet 2006 du quartier de la commune de Götschetal. Depuis le 1er janvier 2010, Sennewitz fait partie de la commune unifiée de Petersberg. Au 30 juin 2005, 1718 personnes vivaient à Sennewitz.
Le village a été mentionné pour la première fois dans des documents en 1182. Sennewitz faisait partie de l'administration de Giebichenstein dans le district de Saale de l'archidiocèse de Magdebourg. Avec son intégration à la Prusse, le village a appartenu à partir de 1680 au duché brandebourgeois-prussien de Magdebourg.
