Ferrol Vello est le noyau ancien de la ville galicienne de Ferrol. C'est un ensemble historique, origine de la ville, orienté vers le port et abrité au fond de l'estuaire de manière compacte.
Jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle, la ville de Ferrol ne s'étendait pas au-delà de Ferrol Vello et dépendait des maisons nobles des Lemos et des Andrade. La communication avec l'extérieur se faisait principalement par la mer, étant pratiquement isolée par la terre. Au fil du temps, elle a conservé sa structure médiévale de manière continue, encore appréciable dans le tracé routier et le parcellaire urbain.
