L’église Saint-Jean Baptiste de Hasparren a été construite au courant du 16ème siècle. Il y a dans le soubassement du maître-autel une inscription romaine marquant l’importance de Hasparren durant l’Antiquité (on peut en voir une copie sur le mur latéral du côté du parking de l’église).
L’église a été agrandie au cours du 19ème siècle car l’édifice était trop exigu pour le nombre de fidèles… Le chœur est reconstruit en 1835, puis l’abside et les chapelles. Les tribunes en bois ont été réalisées entre 1858 et 1859 par Charles Besoin. Les verrières ont été réalisées en 1882 et le décor peint sous la voûte de l’abside a été réalisé par Daniel Saubiès, élève de Léon Bonnat.
