De kerk Saint-Jean Baptiste in Hasparren werd gebouwd in de 16e eeuw. In de voet van het hoogaltaar bevindt zich een Romeinse inscriptie die het belang van Hasparren in de oudheid aangeeft (een kopie is te zien op de zijmuur van de parkeerplaats van de kerk).
De kerk werd in de 19e eeuw uitgebreid omdat het gebouw te klein was voor het aantal gelovigen... Het koor werd herbouwd in 1835, gevolgd door de apsis en de kapellen. De houten tribunes werden tussen 1858 en 1859 gemaakt door Charles Besoin. De ramen werden gemaakt in 1882 en de geschilderde decoratie onder het apsisgewelf werd gemaakt door Daniel Saubiès, een leerling van Léon Bonnat.
