La chiesa di San Giovanni Battista ad Hasparren fu costruita nel XVI secolo. Alla base dell'altare maggiore si trova un'iscrizione romana che testimonia l'importanza di Hasparren nell'antichità (una copia è visibile sul muro laterale del parcheggio della chiesa).
La chiesa fu ampliata nel XIX secolo perché l'edificio era troppo piccolo per il numero di fedeli Il coro fu ricostruito nel 1835, seguito dall'abside e dalle cappelle. Le tribune in legno furono costruite tra il 1858 e il 1859 da Charles Besoin. Le finestre sono state realizzate nel 1882 e la decorazione pittorica sotto la volta dell'abside è opera di Daniel Saubiès, allievo di Léon Bonnat.
