La iglesia de San Juan Bautista de Hasparren fue construida en el siglo XVI. En la base del altar mayor hay una inscripción romana que señala la importancia de Hasparren en la antigüedad (se puede ver una copia en la pared lateral del aparcamiento de la iglesia).
La iglesia se amplió en el siglo XIX porque el edificio era demasiado pequeño para el número de fieles El coro fue reconstruido en 1835, seguido del ábside y las capillas. Las tribunas de madera fueron construidas entre 1858 y 1859 por Charles Besoin. Las ventanas fueron realizadas en 1882 y la decoración pintada bajo la bóveda del ábside fue realizada por Daniel Saubiès, alumno de Léon Bonnat.
