C'est à l'aube du XXème siècle que germa l'idée de construire l'église du Saint-Sauveur à Morsbach. Le 1er novembre 1900 apparut une circulaire du pape Léon XIII qui demandait à tous les croyants de débuter le siècle nouveau dans l'esprit du Sauveur.
C'est à partir de cette circulaire, que le curé de Morsbach, Nicolas Folschweiller, eut l'idée de construire l'église du Saint-Sauveur.
C'est ainsi qu'en 1907 l'église fut édifiée et consacrée.
