La zone humide de la Moutière est protégée par le Conservatoire des espaces naturels, est situé à environ 385m d’altitude, dans une cuvette, le marais concentre les pluies provenant du massif du Fossard via le ruisseau de Seux. C’est un héritage des dernières périodes glacières, constitué de plusieurs mètres d’alluvions, déposés après le retrait des glaciers. Le sol, à tendance tourbeuse, recouvre aujourd’hui entièrement le site. Situé au cœur du village, il abrite, néanmoins, des habitats naturels tout à fait remarquables, notamment des faciès tourbeux et la Sanguisorbe officinale (plante herbacée) qui donne un habitat à l’Azuré des paluds (papillon).
