Het moeras van Moutière wordt beschermd door het Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels en ligt op een hoogte van ongeveer 385 m in een bekken, het moeras concentreert de neerslag van het Fossard-massief via de Seux-beek. Het is een erfenis van de laatste ijstijden, bestaande uit meters alluvium dat is afgezet na het terugtrekken van de gletsjers. De grond, die naar veen neigt, bedekt nu het hele terrein. Het ligt in het hart van het dorp, maar bevat toch enkele opmerkelijke natuurlijke habitats, met name de veengronden en de Sanguisorbe officinale (kruidachtige plant) die een habitat vormt voor de Azuré des paluds (vlinder).
