La zona umida di La Moutière è protetta dal Conservatoire des espaces naturels ed è situata a circa 385 m di altitudine, in una conca, la palude concentra le piogge provenienti dal massiccio del Fossard attraverso il torrente Seux. È un'eredità delle ultime glaciazioni, costituita da diversi metri di alluvioni depositate dopo il ritiro dei ghiacciai. Il terreno, tendenzialmente torboso, copre ora l'intero sito. Situato nel cuore del villaggio, ospita tuttavia notevoli habitat naturali, in particolare le facies torbose e la Sanguisorbe officinale (pianta erbacea) che fornisce un habitat all'Azuré des paluds (farfalla).
