Cité médiévale aux portes des plages du Débarquement, Bayeux tient sa réputation mondiale de sa somptueuse cathédrale et de sa célèbre Tapisserie classée par l'UNESCO. Toutes deux célèbrent l'épopée de Guillaume-le-Conquérant. Chaque premier week-end de juillet, les Médiévales de Bayeux constitue l'événement emblématique de la ville. Miraculeusement épargnée par les combats de juin 1944, Bayeux est la première ville de France continentale libérée et accueille le plus grand cimetière britannique de Normandie.
