Suite à la destruction du village lors de la deuxième guerre mondiale, l'église a été reconstruite en 1961, dans un style très contemporain et original avec un toit en terrasse. La tour-clocher est détachée de l’église et a une forme très moderne. L’artiste Suisse Jean Weinbaum y a créé un vitrail avec les Ateliers Loire, en verre antique et plomb entièrement peint, cuit au feu.
