Ötzi, qui est apparu parfaitement conservé après 5300 ans d'une fonte glaciaire et qui est maintenant visible à -6°C au Südtiroler Archäologiemuseum (www.iceman.it), est passé de sensation scientifique à célébrité. Ce qu'il a vécu n'est pas rien : tué par des inconnus au sommet d'une montagne, et découvert seulement en 1991 par des grimpeurs allemands, qui pensaient avoir affaire à un collègue victime d'un accident. Un journaliste a inventé le surnom d'Ötzi pour 'l'homme de la glace', d'après le lieu de découverte dans les Alpes de l'Ötztal.
