Le canal Beukers-Steenwijk est la liaison navigable entre le Meppelerdiep et le Canal Steenwijk-Ossenzijl. Juste au sud-est de la Schutsloterwijde, le canal commence au Meppelerdiep et se dirige ensuite vers le nord-ouest vers la partie orientale de la Belterwijde. Par le chenal du côté est de la Beulakerwijde, le canal s'étend vers le nord le long de Giethoorn jusqu'à Steenwijk. Le canal allant du Meppelerdiep jusqu'à Zuideinde de Giethoorn est également appelé Beukersgracht. Les canaux latéraux de Giethoorn comprennent le Jan Hozengracht, le Cornelisgracht et le Thijssengracht. Juste avant le raccordement avec le Canal Steenwijk-Ossenzijl, à l'ouest de Steenwijk, le Steenwijkerdiep rejoint le canal.
