De Laak est un plan d'eau à Azewijn, un village ecclésiastique dans la municipalité de Montferland. On pense qu'il est un vestige de l'un des affluents du Rhin, qui coulait ici autrefois. De Laak est connu parce qu'en 1605, la sorcière Mechteld ten Ham a été jetée dans l'eau pour prouver qu'elle était une sorcière. Elle flottait sur ses larges jupes, ce qui était considéré comme une preuve. Elle a ensuite été brûlée vive à 's-Heerenberg.
