De Laak è un corpo d'acqua ad Azewijn, un villaggio ecclesiastico nel comune di Montferland. Si crede che sia un relitto di uno dei tributi del Reno, che un tempo scorrevano qui. De Laak è conosciuto perché nel 1605 la strega Mechteld ten Ham fu gettata in acqua per dimostrare che era una strega. Galleggiava sulle sue ampie gonne, che vennero considerate come prova. Fu poi bruciata sul rogo a 's-Heerenberg.
