Nel portale di accesso sotto la torre, una lapide commemorativa con le date ‘9 e 10 luglio 1580’ ricorda l'assalto alla città da parte di Olivier van de Tympel e il fatto che la città sfuggì alla distruzione delle immagini. Sotto di essa giacciono 32 palle di cannone che ricordano l'assedio di Filippo di Cleef. La vetrata nella parete occidentale della torre rappresenta Sant'Martino, il santo patrono della chiesa. La torre è alta 71 metri e contiene un carillon con 54 campane che pesano in totale 13 tonnellate.
