La birreria crea un'ampia gamma di birre, comprese versioni di stili belgi "tradizionali" come le Strong Golden Ales, le birre in stile Abbey e le Saison, oltre a creazioni originali che Superano i confini stilistici e birre ispirate a stili provenienti da paesi esterni come l'Imperial Stout. Sebbene sia piuttosto piccola e un nuovo arrivato nel mondo della birra belga, essendo stata fondata nel 2002, Alvinne ha guadagnato attenzione internazionale.
Il loro nome precedente includeva il termine "Picobrouwerij", un gioco di parole sulla terminologia scientifica per oggetti molto piccoli. Si basa sul fatto che la produzione della birreria è più piccola di diversi ordini di grandezza rispetto a quella di una tipica microbirreria. Il prefisso Pico- è combinato in modo giocoso con "brouwerij", il termine olandese e fiammingo per birreria.
