Il Plateau Heysel non è stato l'unico sito della città a subire importanti modifiche per le Esposizioni Universali del XX secolo. Lavori estesi si sono svolti anche nel quartiere Mont des Arts negli anni '50. Il Centro Convegni di Bruxelles, progettato da Jules Ghobert e Maurice Hoyoux, è stato inaugurato per l'Esposizione Universale del 1958. Era composto da diversi spazi sotterranei, due auditorium e una sala espositiva. La scoperta di amianto alla fine degli anni '90 ha costretto a chiuderlo temporaneamente e ha dato avvio ai lavori di restauro e ampliamento nel 2005. Ha riaperto le porte nel 2009, quando è stato rinominato Square - Centro Convegni di Bruxelles.
