'Il bosco di Elishout era in passato di proprietà dei signori di Aa. La parte principale del bosco di Elishout fu donata all'abbazia di Vorst dalla famiglia di Aa all'inizio del XIV secolo. L'attuale fattoria di Elishout è stata ampliata e ristrutturata più volte. Gli edifici attuali risalgono al 1754. Gli edifici sono stati innalzati in relazione al cortile interno, senza dubbio a causa delle regolari inondazioni della Zenne. La fattoria di Elishout è stata incorporata nel complesso COOVI, che ora è di proprietà della Comunità Fiamminga (VGC).
