Ostend Sailing è stata fondata nel 1987 come organizzazione senza scopo di lucro con l'obiettivo di promuovere attivamente gli sport acquatici e le imbarcazioni da diporto , in particolare la navigazione in catamarano .
Può fornire formazione lì, organizzare gare di vela e motonautica e organizzare tutti i tipi di eventi nautici. L'associazione desidera anche promuovere i contatti sociali tra i suoi membri.
Il club dispone di uno spazio presso il faro di Ostenda che funge da parco barche e ospita anche la sala club con tutti i comfort (bar, doccia, ripostiglio...).
