Ostend Sailing werd als V.Z.W. opgericht in 1987 met als doel op een actieve manier de watersport en de pleziervaart, meer in het bijzonder het catamaranzeilen, te bevorderen.
Zij kan hiervoor scholing geven, zeil- en motorbootwedstrijden organiseren en allerlei manifestaties op watersportgebied verwezenlijken. De vereniging heeft eveneens tot doel de sociale contacten tussen haar leden te bevorderen.
De club beschikt over een terrein gelegen aan de vuurtoren in Oostende dat dienst doet als botenpark en waarop tevens het clublokaal met alle accommodatie (bar, douche, bergplaatsen…) is.
