Ostend Sailing wurde 1987 als gemeinnützige Organisation mit dem Ziel gegründet, Wassersportarten und Freizeitboote , insbesondere Katamaransegeln , aktiv zu fördern.
Es kann dafür Schulungen anbieten , Segel- und Motorbootwettbewerbe organisieren und alle Arten von Wassersportveranstaltungen durchführen. Der Verein will auch die sozialen Kontakte zwischen seinen Mitgliedern fördern.
Der Club verfügt über einen Bereich am Leuchtturm von Ostende , der als Bootspark dient und in dem sich auch der Clubraum mit allen Unterkünften (Bar, Dusche, Lagerraum ...) befindet.
