A Ostenda è operativo dal 2019 il nuovo mercato del pesce con una superficie di 5.000 mq . Gran parte della miniera costruita dopo la seconda guerra mondiale è stata demolita, ma la facciata storica è stata conservata.
L'asta fiamminga del pesce intende mettere all'asta un totale di 17.000 tonnellate di pesce all'anno, distribuite sui siti di Zeebrugge e Ostenda. Ciò genera un fatturato di circa 67 milioni di euro (2019).
