La chiesa di San Francesco è una chiesa parrocchiale nel comune di Anversa, situata a Merksem, lungo la Bredabaan. Questa chiesa fu costruita tra il 1893 e il 1896, in un periodo in cui Merksem si espandeva enormemente e diventava urbanizzata a causa dell'espansione della zona portuale di Anversa verso Merksem. L'ampliamento della chiesa di San Bartolomeo non fornì sufficiente sollievo e nel 1890 fu fondata una seconda parrocchia a Merksem. Grazie all'impegno dell'allora sindaco Frans de l'Arbre, la chiesa fu dedicata a San Francesco. La chiesa fu costruita secondo il progetto di Henri Blomme.
