Il Memoriale dell'Unità Tedesca, noto anche come Memoriale "Germania Divisa", nonché, dopo l'inaugurazione e prima della riunificazione, "Memoriale dell'Est Tedesco", è stato inaugurato il 16 giugno 1961 nella piazza Fischtor di Magonza in occasione dell'anniversario della rivolta popolare nella ex DDR del 17 giugno 1953 con l'iscrizione "La Germania è indivisibile". Contiene perlopiù i nomi delle città tedesche dell'epoca, allora sotto amministrazione polacca o russa, a est dell'Oder e della Neisse, e delle città nella ex Repubblica Democratica Tedesca.
