Ressen si trova nella Bassa Lusazia. Il luogo è la parte settentrionale del comune di Neu-Seeland. A est e sud-est, il luogo confina con Neupetershain. A nord si trova il quartiere Greifenhain della città di Drebkau e a nord-ovest il quartiere Pritzen del comune di Altdöbern. A ovest e sud-ovest si trovano i quartieri di Neu-Seeland Lubochow e Bahnsdorf.
