Il Teatro e Orchestre di Heidelberg è una casa con cinque settori: teatro musicale, concerti, recitazione e danza, nonché un proprio ensemble per il teatro per bambini e giovani. Per la stagione 2012/13 è stata nuovamente stabilita una propria compagnia di danza al Teatro e Orchestre di Heidelberg con la Dance Company Nanine Linning/Teatro Heidelberg. Con la stagione 2018/19, il coreografo spagnolo e ex ballerino Iván Pérez ha assunto la direzione artistica del nuovo Dance Theatre Heidelberg, succedendo alla coreografa Nanine Linning. Dal 2005, anche l'Orchestra Filarmonica della città di Heidelberg fa parte del teatro e forma un proprio settore con numerosi concerti e accompagnamento di produzioni operistiche. Il direttore è, dalla stagione 2011/12, Holger Schultze. Il 1° giugno 2017 ha esteso il suo contratto fino al 2026.
