Fino all'istituzione della nuova rotta del Mare Baltico nel 2018, il viaggio da Nordjylland a Als era la più lunga pista ciclabile nazionale della Danimarca. La rotta costiera inizia a Hulsig a nord di Frederikshavn e termina a Sønderborg dopo 660 bellissimi chilometri. Per la maggior parte si pedala su strade asfaltate, e i tratti su sentieri più piccoli sono per lo più buoni sentieri di ghiaia.
